Upgrading your home’s energy efficiency not only saves you money on utility bills but also makes your living space more comfortable. In Ireland, if you’re applying for an SEAI Home Energy Upgrade Grant, one key requirement is a Building Energy Rating (BER) certificate.

 

A BER certificate measures your home’s energy performance on a scale from A (most efficient) to G (least efficient). After you complete energy upgrades such as insulation or heating improvements with the support of an SEAI grant, a new BER certificate is needed to finalize the process.
